Scope and Purpose

The Center actively seeks donations complimenting the vast Julian P. Kanter Political Commercial Collection. Donating political advertisements to the archive assures the work will be preserved to share with future generations. As a matter of collection policy, film, video, and sound materials are excepted based on the following criteria:

• Materials are political commercials from candidates, campaigns officials special interest groups, political parties, political consultants and agencies.
• Materials fill in a gap in our collection.
• Materials include access or transfer of restriction free rights to the Center.

Additionally, the Center maintains a strict commitment to providing the best possible conditions for the preservation of materials, including climatically controlled storage and a high level of security. The archive does adhere to donor restrictions and to prevent disrespect, ridicule, or misrepresentation of candidates or producers of the commercials and patrons must assure that the materials will not be used in any unauthorized way.
